hi... I just had my ferret undergo the same surgery. She is 5years old and I
was petrified when they gave me those same numbers. I am happy to say she is
running around and growing fur again..... I think vets have to tell you that
but they wouldnt opt to do the surgery if they didnt think that they would be
successful. I wish you and Buth the best.. I know I was a basket case. Linda
