Hi All;

I have a question that I was hoping I could get an answer to.
Actually the owner of this ferret would like the answer.

Ferret was taken to vet due to urinary problems. He also had an
enlarged spleen. Vet performed surgery to remove the spleen and while
he was 'in there' drained the prostate of 20cc of green thick sludge
(her description). The adrenal glands (according to vet) were fine.
Vet said that Lupron would help the prostate and administered the
four to six month shot-this was two months ago. Since that time the
ferret has progressively lost fur, gotten increasingly itchy and has
just recently developed a rash on his body that looks like chicken
pox. Bloodwork showed the ferret to be anemic. Received a shot of dex
and a large bruise developed around the shot area. He is also on pred.

Any ideas on what could be causing the rash? According to the owner,
nothing has been changed. After the lupron shot wears off, will the
ferret regrow his fur? Are there any meds or herbals that will help
this ferret stop itching. It is so bad he has scratched himself to
the point of scabs.

Thank you,
Mary
