Hey everyone, my first post...hope it works!
When Noodles went in for her first surgery for adrenal, the vet took out he=
r left adrenal gland and he removed a small "mass" from her liver. I did no=
t have it biopsied, thought it was nothing to worry about. Well that was in=
mid july. About a week and a half ago, she is still showing symptoms of ad=
renal, so I took her to a different vet. She wanted x-rays and an ultrasoun=
d done. She showed me the x-ray. I noticed right away that something wasn't=
right. Her liver is enlarged 3-4 times it's normal size and appeared to ta=
ke up the chest cavity. She showed me the ultrasound and her right adrenal =
gland is very large. The vet wanted to keep her overnight and do some more =
tests the next day (blood clotting and a ?needle biopsy?) Didn't get to it =
that day, but the day after I went in to pick her up. She told me that she =
believes it to be a fluid filled cyst. when she did the blood clotting, it =
took a little bit more than normal time to clot but was good enough to do t=
he needle biopsy. She drew out about 3 cc's of a clear yellowish liquid (ha=
d no protien in it) from her liver, and there was a noticible change in her=
chest size when I picked her up. She ran some glucose and blood tests and =
some tests to see how the liver was functioning. All of those came out good=
and right in the middle of normal range. She offered surgery or lupron. I =
guess I'm trying to figure out what could possibly be the problem with the =
liver...could it be a cyst or something else? She said if it continues to g=
row it could burst or cut off the function of the liver. What are signs of =
liver failure? I can't have the surgery done right now due to some finances=
(just spent my last 2 paychecks in two visits!) but Noodles is estimated t=
o be around 3 1/2 to 4 1/2 years old.
thanks for any and all help!
