Doug, according to ferret specialist veterinary pathologist, Dr. Bruce Williams ferrets don't cathc human rhinovirus (colds). They DO get influenza (and one is already going around) and bacterial sinus infections, though, so we can share those back and forth.

Your best bet is to use steam (being careful to not over-heat), avoid over the counter meds since some of those can be fatal for ferrets, and if the ferret gets too ill or the cough gets bad get to the vet so that a more serious complication can be treated if a secondary infection starts.
