How do you know by touch alone, if a spleen is big enough that it is in danger of rupturing?

If a 9 year old non-surgical candidate has an enlarged spleen and it is not causing any symptoms of distress should it be left alone or is euthanasia ever considered because a rupture is a high risk and a horrible painful death? What is considered big enough to rupture?
Thank you to any comments..
