My eight year old sable, Tally, has always been healthy and active. Nine months ago she started limping in her right back leg; x-rays showed some narrowing of a disc in the lumbar region. She had a short run of Pred and cage rest and seemed to be better. However, in the last several months she seems to be slowing down. She has had no weight gain, bowel changes, eating changes. She still loves to play and will play with the crew or by herself for about ten minutes, then will crawl into a hammock and rest for a good fifteen before she plays again. Two nights ago she was playing and began to choke and finally vomited coffee ground material with a huge scream. She was lethargic and I rubbed some light Karo syrup on her gums, which picked her back up. My vet, who is wonderful, saw her yesterday and could find no reason for this. We have her on a little Pepcid and Pepto and are watching. So I am just asking for any clues to what might be up; besides her age. Thanks in advance.
