I too am a big believer in Bag Balm, both for the animals and myself. Any area that is dry, chapped, etc. will be soothed by it. It was originally made to put on cow udders in cold winter weather. It's probably not so safe for them to lick, so I would use it sparingly. However, I would doubt its ability to grow new fur....
I am never without it.
