Hi Dr Blair,
Just call me Jerry. Yes, there is a liquid version
of Carafate (100mg/ml), or you can dissolve a
1g tablet in 10mls of warm water to give you
100mg/ml. I think I ordered it from Burns.
Tagamet is my choice because it comes in an
injectable form. I will typically give an injection of
Tagamet right after the surgery then either injections
or orally after that.
Pepcid, Zantac, etc, are all good choices too.
Hope that helps,
Jerry Murray, DVM
