In acute kidney failure, much of the time if you keep them going with
sufficient supportive care and solve the reason for the kidney failure to
have occurred, the kidneys can recover. Not all of the time, certainly, but
I have seen recovery in many cases. In the majority of the cases that I have
seen in acute kidney failure, kidney infection is the cause. I would
strongly consider a culture and sensitivity of the urine, and switching
antibiotics (you don't mention what she's on, but I would consider using
something like Baytril or Clavamox). I would definitely want to continue the
fluids and other supportive care measures like Carafate, etc.

Good luck - this can be a long and frustrating thing to treat, but as I said,
in many cases, treatment can be successful.
