This is of course unscientific, but three of the four ferrets we currently
have have had anaphylactic reactions -- one *severely* life-threatening
reaction to distempter vac, and two milder but still serious reactions to
rabies vac. We no longer vaccinate. That's 75%. And our rate for all the
ferrets we have had in our home for a significant period of time is 3 out
of 7 -- 42.8%!
I know this is just anecdotal, but good grief! I would not be surprised if
the rate for vac reactions turns out to be significantly higher than
previously thought.
