1-1/2 years old is kind of young for an adrenal problem - but it isn't
unheard of. Adrenal disease is not "catching" so even though you
already have an adrenal baby - it won't be passed on.

It could very well be an clogged pore problem from the description of
orangey color. Some ferret owners have experienced good results
using Stridex pads or anything like that to clean the tail.

It still doesn't hurt to have your vet take a look at it and see if there is
anything he might prescribe.
