Has anyone encountered a ferret that gets car- or motion-sickness?

I ask because most of our ferrets hate to ride in the car and dig and
bite at their carrier constantly. One of them, however, really flips
out. He doesn't dig and bite any more frantically than the rest of
them, but it does stress him out so much that he is very quickly
panting with his tongue hanging out and his eyes half shut. His
reaction is so severe that it makes me wonder if perhaps he gets
carsick, rather than just hating the ride.

This guy does have some thickening in his bronchioles, but that
doesn't slow him down at all in normal play. (His previous owner was
a - apparently heavy - smoker and kept him on wood chips. We haven't
found any other signs of cardiac disease, as lung problems would
usually indicate.)
