Dear friends:
In one of the recent posts about BG levels, feeding and meds, one suggestion
was to talk with the vet about increasing the meds to get the BG up to normal
range. About 80 it said. My question. I have a little guy who had a
pancreatectomy about 6 months ago. It didn't change his BG levels. Still low
50's. The Dr. I took him to after for meds said that we are not particularly
looking for the BG levels to go up but for them to at least stabilize they
did for a couple months then he had a seizure. They had gone down to the
40's. We increased his meds. A week later his BG level was in the 50's again.
We did bloodwork to check on everything. We are considering surgery again and
dreading it. So, on meds are we looking for BG to increase or stabilize? Or,
does it just depend on the individual?
Thanks for your input.
Sincerely,
Tiffany, Cindy, Oscar and Slinky
