I recently learned, from a brochure that Danee authored, that raccoons can be ADV carriers and pass it on to mink. That being the case, there is already a "potential" for exposure before the mink even come into the picture. I can't speak to the different strains, etc. I just know that information was enough for me to make some changes.

I do wildlife rehab and will no longer allow any raccoons in my home. In addition to being carriers of ADV, they can also contract/carry canine distemper.
