Hi,
I am a former member of the group and actually lost track of you for a whil=
e but thanks to Sukie found my way back. Anyway, my Bandit is not doing to=
well, the vet says he's obeste, he's 4'2 pounds and has insulinoma. He ha=
d adrenal surgery few years back and had both removed but never needed horm=
one replacements. His BG on average is about 62 which the vet says to add +=
10 so its about 72. He's on pred twice a day .50, the vet said the pred in=
creases their appetite and they put on more weight. He suggested switching =
from the pred to proglecim (sp??) but it's too expensive. Bandit will only=
eat Babyfood and I mix in water, but aside from that he won't eat anything=
else and never drinks any water. I know water is important but I figured =
if he got it in his food that wood be enough but according to the vet I sho=
uld eliminate some of the water in his food so he drinks on his own. Bandit=
is now blind and he doesn't like the water bowl to much, it seems like he =
doesn't like the water or maybe he doesn't know where it is. I really need=
some help with a diet for him and a way to get him to drink his water and =
if possible eat dry food again. If anyone has any ideas, please share my v=
et doesn't really know how to solve this problem.
