Subject: Pre Test for Adrenal Surgery

Hello
I have a fairly healthy 3 and a half yr old girl that has that is in the ea=
rly stages of adrenal. She did have a pretty sever case of ECE, that still=
comes back to haunt her. And she had also been diagnosed with an enlarged =
spleen, which does not seem to cause her any issues. Knowing it is enlarge=
d because you
can see it through her skin at times, she is an Albino =
She started Lupron shots the end of Sept. for treatment and does not take v=
ery well at all!! They hurt her like a son of a gun and she shrieks and ac=
ts pained for about 10 secs after the shot is given, and I wish I was exagg=
erating, but I=92m not and it =
hurts to watch her :-(
She going into the vets tomorrow to get tests done to make sure that sure s=
he is ok for surgery. The vet said they are going to put her under to do t=
he x-rays and blood work. They to do it this way, so they get good clear x=
-rays, and so they also know how the animal takes to being put under. They =
are also going to give her this month=92s Lupron shot while she is under, =

This is my first one with adrenal; I have done quite a bit of reading on it=
, but I just wanted to ask is there anything that I should make sure I ask,=
or that they test/check for? In my reading, it seems pretty straight for=
ward, for an
experienced vet ( which I feel my vet(s) are, there are 2 of them at the cl=
inic and both are wonderful and have done countless surgeries) But, with h=
er spleen issue, and not knowing until/if they open her up, what the situat=
ion is with that. Is it ok for them to do both adrenal and or spleen/tumor=
removal at the same time? =
I know this may seem like jumping the gun=85. But I want to be prepared to =
be able answer and ask the right questions. And can=92t fib and say I am no=
t a little nervous, cause I am. So the more I know, the better I can try to=
feel :o)
