I too, had a male ferret, Slim, who did this same thing. He would eat corners off blankets, socks, etc., even going so far as to chew the hems off my dresses hanging in the closet. We never figured out just why he did this. He had four other ferrets to play with but should not have been bored. He came from a bad home where he had been locked in a very small room, so we always thought he was just majorly stressed at that point and never got over it. I'd still like to know what others think!
