I don't know this from experience with my own ferrets, but I've read time and time again that unfortunatley adrenal disease holds no age limit. It happens to the young and old alike, 'moreso' in the older. When Jade Elaine's adrenal probs started he was around 5.
I sincerely hope that your little gaffer isn't adrenal.
