Hello again Roger,
The ferret I was referring to had sarcoptic mange, she was not the first and by no means the last to have it. Whilst Ivermectin may eventually work, I did find that shampooing in the chlorhexiderm and also I forgot to mention diluting the chlorhexiderm disinfectant and using it as a dip, worked really well to soothe and heal the skin.
It works wonderfully well with most skin problems even when my golden retreiver had hot spots and also a bunch of guinea pigs I rescued had mites etc..dipping them every 2 days or so, seemed to heal them at a much faster rate than just the Ivermectin. Also another great product that I used is MICROTEK both shampoo and skin conditioner, leaves the skin feeling smoothe, stops itching and smells good.
BTW, wasn't implying the ferret had Demodex just thought you might like to read reference, I like the Australian book very much, hope the ferret quickly improves---Angela.
