First off, how was the diagnosis of ulcers reached?

Is there digested blood in the feces? Was a biopsy taken? Was exploratory surgery done? What was there besides just grinding? What tests were done?

Grinding mean nausea but can be caused by multiple things.

Since it sounds like there is also lethargy that worsens noticably with decreased eating in addition to nausea I need to ask if the ferret's blood glucose levels were run.

The protocol you are following isn't optimal for ulcers and you can learn more by searching on ulcers in the Complete FHL Archives (Select the bold print at the site.) but I think that it may be that you are dealing with something other than or in addition to ulcers.
