Yes and yes.
I had one case of small-cell lymphoma diagnosed 2/27/98 when a tiny lump appeared on Cooper's head. By 3/5, just 1 week later, the lump was the size of a quarter. We did surgery that day and Cooper died in recovery. Roxie had exploratory surgery the same day. Her spleen was "a mess" and the biopsy showed small-cell lymphoma. She died just 26 days later.
On both April 22 (Jesse) and August 22, 1999 (Smokey) died from lymphoma which was diagnosed by gross pathology and symptoms.
Since August, 1999, I've lost 10 more ferrets (like Sukie, I've lost 4 personal pets this year). None were suspected of having lymphoma. They have died from cardiomyopathy, adrenal related problems, cirrosis of the liver/IBD, and age related illnesses (Melissa was 9+ and Alex just died at 10.5 years of age and he was ADV+ for quite some time).
Sukie, my condolences.
