Christy- our Peanut had adrenal surgery a week and a half ago. She's 3 and only started losing fur about 3 weeks ago, so hopefully we caught it early. The first couple days afterwards she was pretty out of it- sleeping a lot, etc. 3 days out she was shooting us dirty looks (we only cage our ferrets at nite but she had to stay isolated to heal and rest and she didn't like it!) and 4 days out she was scratching at the bars to come out. She is pretty much the same as she was before the surgery now- although she lost a little weight, but she's eating and has her energy back. Still missing the hair on her back- can anyone tell me how soon that will grow back??

Of course the surgery here on the west coast is more expensive than all these other quotes ($1,000)- if you don't live here it probably will be a lot less! Our vet unhesitatingly recommended immediate surgery. If I were you I'd do it right away- if it's hard to afford ask your vet if you can work out a payment plan with them.

good luck,
Jaime
