Molly just had right adrenal surgery on July 3rd and the vet sent us home
with Clavamox for post-op. The first dose produced some vomiting and the
2nd dose resulted in severe vomiting and loss of appetite. After the second
dose, called vet, who suggested stopping Clavamox.
Molly's appetite was poor for another day or so, but after stopping the
Clavamox, things started improving and she is doing fine.
She had stitches removed yesterday and the vet noted on her chart that she
is sensitive to Clavamox. She will probably be given amoxi or batril in the
future.

I have 2 ferrets that have a tendency toward stomach problems. They vet has
checked them thoroughly, and there is nothing he can find wrong, but they
are finiky. Little changes in food and other things will cause them to have
nausea. These 2 ferrets can take Amoxi without problems, but cannot
tolerate Clavamox. When I try to use Clavamox on them, they will end up
vomiting, and will stop eating. When they need something stronger then
Amoxi, we go to injected antibiotics at this point.
