Lisa,

Glad the tracheal wash idea might be of some use...

Certainly I'm not suggesting at this stage that it's likely lymphoma - no
way is there enough info at this point to say that.

That spurs a memory - Mojo's lungs looked more like a pneumonia, diffuse,
than a discrete spot. The area did grow over time but it was diffuse from
the start, if memory serves.

That's great. With Mojo, he never showed any shadows, masses, or anything
notable on rads (besides the lungs) or ultrasound. Even on necropsy, his
organs *looked* pretty normal besides the expected (rt adrenal we knew was
bad, insulinoma we knew about, enlarged spleen we knew about and had
aspirated). Certainly nothing shouted that most of his organs were
infiltrated with lymphoma - it took the histopath to say so. But I think
this was all fairly unusual. He was very advanced with insulinoma by the
time he was really sick with the lymphoma, or we would have done an
exploratory and biopsied some organs and probably found it. In any case,
your doctor's idea of pulling a node is great - that is surely the most
sound approach I know of.

Best,
-Pam S.
