My ferret recently has had surgery for pyometria, we thought it was a
blockage, but surgery proved she was suffering from an incomplete spay,
(Holmes Farms). She is slowly recovering, and I am concerned about the
after care. She also had her left adrenal gland removed at the time of
surgery, (I had had her on Lupron for 2 years.) My question is: she
has been on various antibiotics, and is convalescing, I had been giving
her predneselone, l/4 tablet every other day for 2 years. Since the
surgery she has had none. In your opinion, is the drug still
necessary? I do not want to over medicate, nor do I want to risk a
withdrawal. I am concerned and worried, as she has been under a lot of
strain. I am so lucky to still have her. Input
please.
