Hi Ann, I personally do not like neutering any animal until it is
sexually mature. The vets in the UK like females to have one season and
castration is safer/quicker in a male ferret with the testes descended.
With male dogs it can be done for different reasons and that changes the
age at which it is done. I never spay my jills and only hobs over a year
