Yesterday I lost Toby to an aggressive adrenal carcinoma. I just wanted to share with you all how extreme this mass became.

In late May, I noticed the characteristic hairloss associated with adrenal disease - and began searching for a surgeon who could peform cyrosurgery.

On July 3 he went in for surgery. The doctor found a "golf ball size tumor" which involved his liver, and recommended we not "disturb it". Toby was sewn up, sent home and given "three months".

Nearly six months later, the tumor was enormous - the size of a softball (no exageration). He looked horrible for the last several weeks, but still ate and drank as usual and was able to get around with dragging too much belly. His crash was sudden and happened literally overnight. His breathing was labored and he could no longer hold himself up. Though it took TWO lethal injections and nearly 20 minutes to send him across the bridge - I mercifully let him go.
