Hi,

A 6 month old male ferret came into my shelter a couple weeks ago. He was turned over because he became too aggresive with the owners petite female. I immediately noticed that he had the slight odor and greasy haircoat of a male coming into season. There are no testicles present. I was thinking that he possible has a testicle retained in the body cavity. What would the best approach be? Can you do a serum testosterone level or should I just have an exploratory performed? He's a big, sweet silver mitt that I think I'll have a hard time placing with others, unless this is the problem.
Thanks in advance,
