Dear Vivian:

sugars glucose level today is 120. twice the level for
> insuloma ; does that mean the pediapred is working for her!

Yes, 120 is actually high normal glucose. So if she has an insulinoma, th pred is working.

i try and watch out for the signs and give
> her a drop or 2 of honey. sugar lost her sight when she had the first one!

Seizures often result in blindness during the post-ictal phase, as the body is recovering from that bolt of electricity through the brain (which is what a seizure is.) Temporary loss of sight is not uncommon.

my questions now are what is the normal glucose levels for insuloma
> and what is to low?

Ther are no normal glucos levels for insulinoma, only for normal ferrets, which is 80-120. 60-80 is questionable, and the diagnosis should be made also on the presence of diagnostic signs as well. If less than 60 - that's generally the only value needed for a diagnosis of insulinoma.

AS long as the BG is over 70 in a treated patient with insulinoma, then you are doing well.

With kindest regards,
