Thank you for the responses. Petunia, the 4.5 female, was doing fine this afternoon until she started drinking some water. Then she started the pawing again. I took her to the vet, the vet looked in her mouth and said Petunia's throat looked inflamed and felt swollen. Petunia also has a small tunor on her leg that needs to come off. So while she is under the vet will use a scope to get a better look. What I was wondering is if ferrets actually have tonsils that can have problems?

Thanx,
K C and Petunia
