Dear Janet - You are actually doing it the right way. There is no timetable, just what they will except. Don't try "cold turkey" though - many owners have simply just given up and taken the baby food away, figuring that the ferrets will get hungry enogh to eat the kibble.

In such situations, some ferrets have better resolve than us, and will let themselves starve.

Hand feding to get them back on track is often wht works back, and even dipping pieces of kibble in the baby food and hand feeding has worked well for some.

Some ferrets never really go back - baby food can be VERY addictive, as can hand feeding...

With kindest regards,

Bruce Williams, dVM
