Yes I have heard of animals getting lupus. I have lupus myself and I
belong to a lupus support group and the moderator of the lupus board has a
cat with lupus, and another has a dog with lupus, so I guess it can happen to
a ferret also. That is so sad about Elwood. Couldn't they give him
prednisone, that is a med for humans with lupus, it can be managed. Did they
exhaust all options before putting him down? I never knew that animals could
get lupus until very recently and it really was a suprise to me.
