Dear Jenn:

8 year sis certainly not too old - many ferrets have successful surgery at that age, although you do have to take a close look at many factors, including concurrent disease. Chronological age is a relatively arbitrary way to judge surgical candidacy - I ahve seen many helathy 7 or 8 year olds, and also quite a few two-year-old train wrecks.
