Hi everyone, My name is Lisa,I have a 5 year old ferret that has had 2 adreanal and insulinoma surgerys. My question is what is the best way to keep his blood sugar stable? He is taking pred, but the last glucose test read 56 I would like it to be a little higher. His last surgery was in march of this year.He eats chicken soup 2 times a day. Would peanut butter be a good treat? My mother is diabetic and her doctor told her the p-nut butter would keep her sugar up for a longer period of time than other snacks,do you think the same would apply to ferrets? Any ideas on snacks that might be good for him?? He eats a mix of totally ferret and superior as a free choice daily food.
