Given the bruises, has he been checked for anemia? Untreated adrenal growths can result in serious anemia that can even be fatal.

What is the cause of his continuing runs? Even for IBD, with persistence and luck it can be possible to find meds that can return a ferret to normal activity levels and to having firm or almost firm stools. Scooter has a bad case and an assortment of meds would hold him for a short while, then finally after 9 months on Imuran and 4 on Biosol he wound up with normal stools. IBD ferrets take some time finding a working med or med-combo. Right now we are working toward weaning down his meds if possible. Scoots is a very active 5 and a half year old despite his IBD and we have to make sure he doesn't dig up Ashling's herb garden. (Ashling is our gardener ferret and she guards it jealously, never digging them up but sometimes chewing or rolling them to death...)
