A rare disease of ferrets, but one that usually presents as scabbing is pemphigus.

bruce williams, DVM

As a matter of detail, do ferrets only get pemphigus or do they also get pemphigoid? Is this the same as the bullous diseases seen in humans? I know pemphigus affects a lower layer of skin and is therefore much worse in humans. My grandmother takes a B vitamin combined with a high dose of Tetracycline, which controls her bullous pemigoid.

Thanks for any info you can provide.
