I've seen several posts about ferrets having red paws, noses and ears in different scenarios. I personally have had two IBD ferrets "flush" after eating. Is it related to the food hitting the stomach, or a rise in blood sugar? I'm not sure. Another ferret of mine "flushed" immediately after a Fervac injection and went on to have an anaphylactic reaction. A friend of mine has had ferrets flush with insulinomas, UTI infections, adrenal disease and blocked urethras. I guess the common thread here is systemic STRESS. It seems to be yet another mystery related to ferret health.

I would love to know EXACTLY WHY it happens though.
