This came from a cooking list, but I thought that you guys might want
to try it with your fuzzies. It sure would be a whole lot cheaper
than baby food, and probably healthier.

>I thought I would share.. We make our own ... cough .. doggie food (hubby
hates the word dog food) We call it deli dog food.. I put a whole chicken in
the crockpot and cook it for 24 hours.. Not only does the meat fall off the
bone but the bones become very soft.. We talked this over with our Vet and he
thought that what I was doing was great because this does give our girls the
bone marrow.. and bone meal.. I remove the skin and drain the broth for my own
meatless chicken soup.. I then put the meat and bones in the blender and make
what Blaine called PAT-TA.. I mix this with mixed vegetables and rice.. I
freeze them in those glad containers.. We have three girls..(fur kind) and
each has a food problem .. So we found it so much easier to cook for them..
