There is an abundance of info posted on low platelet counts, but what's the meaning of elevated platelets?

Bandit has been lethargic and "snappy" for at least 3 months. He was taken to the vet in May and diagnosed with "depression" (??)
Since that time he lost his appetite and seems very weak. A follow up trip to the vet still did not answer the question of why Bandit isn't feeling well and tires so easy. X-rays were done, but showned nothing.
The blood work was all within the normal range except for the following:

Hematocrit 59.3%
Platelet Count 831 (10x3/uL)
TP 5.1
Alkaline Phos 53
Globulin 2.1

Apparently, the platelets are the only thing that are not within "acceptable" range.

Is this correct?

Thanks,
Nicole
