I have heard multiple hypotheses connecting things with assorted forms of heart disease and that's what almost all remain: hypotheses. These are ideas worth investigation but not proven, so good to know might or might not pan out. I have not heard of actual research indiciating that anything firm is known. Has anyone here seen actual research on this?
One thing that is documented in relation to ferret heart health is the way that insulinoma is related to A/V heart node block, ditto a few other things, but this problem is very, very rare; only know of a few found in 20 years, one of them being our Sevie who is still going a month after developing Level 3 Heart Block due to her Aminophylline and Enacard even though she will eventually die of it at some point. (There is more on this in the Files section at the smartgroups site; there is more on cardiomyopathy at http://www.miamiferret.org .
