I think someone else mentioned this, but I usually put
food dishes and favorite toys in bad spots for the
problem kids. I have also found that making a big
fuss when they do get it right, helps a lot. If there
are more humans than just you at home, it helps if you
can get everyone involved. I have even resorted to
bribery (treats) in tough cases. The problem is that
once they make the connection that they will get lots
of praise or even maybe a treat by going in the litter
box, they will fake it just to hear "Good Ferret!".
There are worse things though. :-) Some catch on more
quickly than others so just be persistent.
Sometimes a different style of litter box helps too.
Some ferrets like corner litter boxes, other hate
them. Some like low entrance litter boxes. Others
could care less what the style is. My ferrets are
free roam except at bedtime. They make a bee-line for
the cat's big litter box when they are out and then
the cat covers up for them. ...Go figure.
