But when you do then you have no way of know WHICH vaccine the ferret reacted to: the CD vax or the rabies one. Granted, reactions to the rabies shot are less common, but they can and do happen with some individuals. Plus, what if the reaction happens to be to a common component in the matrix, then a much large amount has been given than with one vaccination.

One further concern (and I don't know if this is still thought to be possible): when I had my first anaphylactic reaction (my own not a ferret's) I was told that sometimes the body learns to be allergic to something else that was present when such a large reaction occurs. (I wound up with such reactions to two veggie groupings on testing -- one being a group which a family member shared, and the other being a group the allergist had never encountered anyone allergic to before. Then he told me about that possibility.) If this really happens then giving both at once may increase the chances to reacting to the other vaccine in the future.
