The results of J.J.'s blood-work are back and his vet said there wasn't any=
thing there that she'd get excited about. Since the lymphocytes and white c=
ell count weren't up at all she didn't think lymphoma was likely. His sugar=
was low - no surprise: she added diazoxide to his prednisone Saturday when=
he had his appointment - and his protein and kidney values were a tiny bit=
high. We will be doing another kidney test and checking his protein in a f=
ew months. Everything else she pronounced "normal". =
It's been six days since J.J. has started the diazoxide and the change is r=
emarkable. This morning he war-danced SIDEWAYS - a first for him. With him =
being so stiff, it was quite a sight to see him try to "dance" sideways. I =
haven't noticed a twitch in days and I haven't seen any stiff legged/arched=
back episodes. He's up and playing more and the muscles all over his body =
are more relaxed - more like the others; like a little rag doll when you pi=
ck him up. I noted as I watched him run and play today how fluid his moveme=
nts are now.
Is anyone using Essiac for insulinoma? It was recommended to me for lymphom=
a (which I was afraid he might prove to have) and, if it's helped for insul=
inoma, I'd like to try to buy him a little more time with it - with his doc=
tor's approval, of course.
My thanks to everyone who offered advice and shared their experiences with =
me. =
