Re: Stormi:

Blindness is not a major impairment for ferrets; in fact, many people
don't realize ferrets are blind. Their primary sense is the sense of
smell.

One thing that you can do to help her get around is to use scents
such as essential oils of safe herbs, safe flowers, fruits, etc. Put
them on things that Stormi may bump into to help her avoid them. You
can even lend direction to the household by using different scents in
different rooms.

If you do try any "old wive's tales" as you put it, DO check them for
safety FIRST; the last thing Stormi or you need would be to have her
liver, pancreas, or kidneys damaged in an effort to help her with a
sense which is not her primary one.
