Just my $0.02, but I will not give vaccines to any animal
undergoing anesthesia. My policy, and that of the majority of
hospitals where I have worked, is to have all vaccines up to date as
of 2 weeks before surgery. After all, the vaccines need a happy
healthy immune system to work, and surgery is a bit immune
disruptive. I also do full cbc/chem profiles with chest xrays on
every ferret over 3 that needs surgery. Call me paranoid, but about
1/2 have changes that affect the surgery that day.
Hope this helps, but it is just my opinion,
