Be sure to have things like Florinef or Percorten, and Prednisone handy in case the ferret doesn't have enough adrenal tissue remaining to produce needed adrenal products.

Have you read the vet texts out there or do you have access to them? Karen Purcell's which is published by AAHA is the most readily accessible and it has a lot of surgical how-tos in it. Also marvelous (but each very different) are Katherine Quesenberry's nad Elizabeth Hillyer's, and James Fox's.

I'd also recommend Charles Weiss's Bradley Hills and Ferretdoctor sites and some other sites by vets, as well as a number contributed to by vets such as
