Well, I guess my vet answered my own question. Sammy had bloodwork done this morning and his ratio was at 29 with both the sodium and potassium being in the right range, So, I guess the shot worked quite well, and quickly. Now he just has to get his appetite back....we will take him off the carafate and maybe lower the pred dosage as it is pretty high. Maybe that will help as well. He just hates all the medications. Thanks to everyone for all your help in this problem.
