Nyssa went into anaphylactic shock after her rabies vaccine two years
ago and nearly died. Our vet pretreats with dexamethasone for three
days prior tot the vaccine, and both dexamethasone *and* benadryl the
day of the vaccine. This has prevented any negative reaction the last
two vaccinations other than the fact that she gets sleepy. The two
together should be fine, but I would certainly discuss dosages with a
vet before doing anything.

Have you considered using a different distempter vaccine than the one he
reacted to, as in replacing Fervac-D with Merial Purevax or vice versa?

All the best,
