Hi Serena, First of all the term exposed just means it has been in
contact with a source of infection a ferret or poo, blood, urine etc. A
ferret can be exposed to the virus but not contract Aleutian Disease.
There is a test for actual virus but the more common tests CIEP, ELISA
or POCT are looking for an ADV-specific protein that is in the blood if
the ferret is producing antibodies to the Aleutian Virus. Chris
