If this is a prostate problem, here's a little more on Propecia/Proscar. They both contain the active ingredient finasteride. Propecia has 1 mg and Proscar has 5 mg.

I believe (but could be wrong!) that the recommendation is to give the ferret 1 mg daily for a month and then reduce the dose to 0.1 mg for maintenance. I have no personal experience with it (either for myself or my ferrets :-)), but I understand that it works well along with Lupron to reduce prostate swelling.
